Prior to enrolling in graduate school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she studied the etiology of sudden infant death syndrome at both the College of New Jersey and Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She also assisted emergency department physicians as a medical scribe in three under-served hospitals. Little did she know, these scientific and medical opportunities would sharpen her critical thinking skills and later significantly inform her scientific and clinical visual storytelling.
Sam’s graduate training in biomedical visualization has guided her in creating cinematic and immersive animations that elegantly communicate complex scientific topics. She is most excited by the research and development process behind building animations, and she aims to create out-of-the-box, innovative solutions that are both highly memorable and informative. She currently works for Rad Science, part of Real Chemistry, as a multimedia production artist.
Outside of biomedical visualization, you can find Sam climbing at the local gym and designing products for her Etsy business targeted towards climbers and adventurers.
